Mikey + Melissa | LDS Temple, OR and The Marshall House, WA

portland oregon wedding photography-3

Lindsay's photo above:

__________

Even though I wasn't allowed in the temple to photograph the ceremony, we made up for it during some formal shots with them. It was the first time a bride actually brought props for the formal pictures. It was awesome! Melissa brought along with her these old suitcases that gave a whole different feel to their photos. It was like photographing a couple back in the 50's and her husband was about to leave on a business trip.

It turns out Melissa and Mikey are somewhat of antique collectors. They had an old typewriter at their reception for guests to type words of wisdom and the tables were decorated with great black and white photos of their parent's wedding. Even the boys were in newsboy hats.

Oh and this was the first time I actually saw the person who caught the bouquet and then throw it someone else! LOL! Classic.

Thanks guys for such a fun night. Lindsay and I were so happy to be a part of it.

daniel stark photography (13 of 14)

__________

It was fun to shoot Jason and Theresa's engagement photos. We went all all around the waterfront and it made for some great backdrops.

Jason is into photography so it was great to talk shop with him! After they get married next year they are taking off to NYC for atleast a year to follow their passions. I am really excited to get to know them and shoot their wedding.

Huong + Trevor | University of Portland and Arista Ballroom, Portland, OR

daniel stark blogs (8 of 16)

__________

I can't get over how perfect Huong and Trevor are for each other. Every moment I caught Huong in, she was either smiling from ear to ear, crying happy tears or hysterically laughing. It was really fun to capture those moments. Trevor has some serious talents and music is definitely one of them. He played a song on the piano for Huong during the reception that brought everyone to tears. It was beautiful.

They met at the University of Portland so what better place to have there ceremony. It is a gorgeous campus and made for really fun shots! Lindsay came along with me on this shoot and did a great job, especially when she caught Trevor and his brother having a little piano practice before the ceremony. More of her work in the slideshow!

Make sure to watch their slideshow at the bottom of the photos or view large here.

Tell me you can look at this and not smile. This is my job. Capturing true emotion through a camera lens. Documenting a love story. More to come of Trevor and Houng real soon!

Amy + Chad | Lincoln City, OR

daniel stark photography blogs (5 of 15)

__________

Amy and Chad had a fun, intimate wedding at a beach house on the Oregon Coast. They said their vows on the back deck of the house on an overcast day. You could hear the waves crashing in the background. It was typical Oregon coast weather and very cool.

Amy looked so beautiful and she is such a sweet person. There were no single ladies at the wedding to catch the bouquet so for the toss, Amy went behind the beach house and gave her bouquet a nice toss into the ocean. I definitely have never seen that before so I had throw the entire sequence into this blog post.

Congrats Amy and Chad!
